Hardo Phrala Village
18th October 2024 we had our field visit to Hardo Phrala Village. We the B.A 2nd Year & M.A 2nd Year students of Journalism & Mass Communication went there for field visit. Two of our faculty members also joined with us. That day our department hired a car from division of students welfare wings for field visit. Hardo Phrala is a very charming village. The roads of that village are so attractive. Hardo Pharala is a Village in Jalandhar-east Tehsil in Jalandhar District of Punjab State, India. It is located 15 KM towards South from District head quarters Jalandhar. 5 KM from Jalandhar-East. 140 KM from State capital Chandigarh. The village is administrated by a sarpanch who is an elected representative of village as per Panchayati raj (India).[1]A sarpanch is the elected head of a village-level governing institution in India called the Gram Panchayat. The term "sarpanch" is used in several states of India, but the title may vary by region. A sarpanch performs a number of administrative duties. In many states, elections were not held for decades and instead of elected sarpanches, the gram panchayats were run by bureaucratically appointed administrators. With the passage of 73rd and 74th constitutional amendments in 1992, a number of safeguards have been built in, including those pertaining to regular elections. In Hardo Phrala we took interview of the Sarpanch. We enjoyed much in that village.
