 Being a student of Journalism and Mass Communication, it is a lifetime and very precious experience for me to have chance of listening live lecture of Eminent Journalist and Television Anchor of India and having a chance of discussion and with his in person. Thanks to my HOD and Teachers and authorities of the Department of Journalism and Mass Communication of the great University LPU to invite Rahul Dev Sir at an Enlighten Session with the student on 'Empowering Minds: Social Media and Fake News Awareness' on the 29th of February 2024.Mr. Rahul Dev Sir shed light on the pressing issue of Social Media and Fake News. Through his extensive experience and expertise Mr. Rahul Dev Sir delved into the challenges posed by mis inform on Social Media. Mr. Rahul Dev Sir spotted light on post truth era. Post truth era is defined as deliberate distortion of a reality that manipulates beliefs and emotions in order to influence public opinion and social attitude. Mr. Rahul Dev Sir gave insight that in the social media era, everybody publishes whatever they want. Fake news websites are widely common, publishing lies and fabricated news. Far-right politicians in the post-truth era appeal to emotions and impose personal views; they hide the truth and convince people of what is untrue. Rahul Dev Sir pinpointed the problem by summarizing that digital communication us distinguished by the fact that information is produced, sent and received  without the mediation of intermediaries. It is not directed by mediators. The intermediate instance is eliminated forever. Media such as Blogs, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube liquidate the mediation of communication, they demedistise it. He raise a question, where do mainstream media organizations stand in the post-truth era? How do they maintain people’s trust, identity, credibility and originality? Rahul Dev Sir recommended that mainstream media must use Social Media Tools intensively in order to defend truth and present the correct information and balanced opinion. You rely on Al Jazeera for truth and transparency. Exploring in Rurka Kalan Village

 30th September was our 2nd field visit B.A Journalism & Mass Communication 2nd year & 1st year also M.A 1st year students. On that day we first reported in our department building. The faculty members had gave all the instructions of what we have to in the field visit. Our department arranged the university bus for our transportation. Three of our faculty members joined us with us in the field visit. There was a great fun in the bus while we were going to Rurka Kalan Village. The time duration from LPU to Rurka Kalan village is 33 minutes. Rurka Kalan is the very nice village in Punjab state.  Rurka Kalan  is a village in the  Tehsil   Phillaur ,  Jalandhar ,  Punjab , India.  Khurd and Kalan  Persian language word which means small and Big respectively when two villages have same name then it is distinguished as  Kalan  means Big and  Khurd  means Small with Village Name.
