Talhan Village Jalandhar

 25th October we had field visit to Talhan  Village in Jalandhar. We the B.A 1st Year, 2nd Year & M.A 1st Year students visited to that field visit. Three of our faculty members joined with us in the field visit. We started for Talhan Village at 11:00AM.  Talhan  is a village in  Jalandhar  district, near the  Jalandhar Cantonment , in  Punjab , India. [ 1 ]   The village was founded by  Jats  of Talhan surname. However, they all left the village during Baba Banda Singh Bahadur's time and later joined forces of Baba  Baghel Singh   Dhaliwal  during the  Battle of Delhi 1783  and the original inhabitants settled in western Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, the village was inhabited by people of the following surnames: Sahgal's;  Randhawa   Jats ; and Bains Jats of  Mahilpur . Hardo Phrala Village

 18th October 2024 we had our field visit to Hardo Phrala Village. We the B.A 2nd Year & M.A 2nd Year students of Journalism & Mass Communication went there for field visit. Two of our faculty members also joined with us. That day our department hired a car from division of students welfare wings for field visit. Hardo Phrala is a very charming village. The roads of that village are so attractive.  Hardo Pharala is a Village in Jalandhar-east Tehsil in Jalandhar District of Punjab State, India. It is located 15 KM towards South from District head quarters Jalandhar. 5 KM from Jalandhar-East. 140 KM from State capital Chandigarh.  The village is  administrated  by a  sarpanch  who is an  elected representative  of village as per  Panchayati raj (India) . Durga Puja - A Big Festival

 This is the season of festival & specially Bengali people all over the world celebrate their main festival Durga Puja with great enthusiast. In every year goddess Durga comes in new form. In this year she will come with Palki. Palki is Bengali word. It's meaning is Palanquin; Sedan Chair.  The word Palanquin is derived from the Sanskrit word Palanka meaning coach and Palanquin is also called Palki. For 2024 Durga Puja, Ashtami is on October 11, and Navami is on the next day, i.e, October 12. The five-day celebrations would culminate with Goddess Durga's immersion on October 13, Sunday. It is significant victory of Goddess Durga in her battle against the shape-shifting a Assura, Mahishasura . Khatkar Kalan Village

On 6th September 2024 we had our 3rd field visit in Khatkar Kalan Village. We the B.A 2nd  Year, 1st Year & M.A 1st Year Students had visited in the field visit. Three of our respected faculty members had joined with us in the field visit. The time duration between LPU to Khatkar Kalan is 33 minutes.  Khatkar Kalan is one of the most charming village in Punjab India. It is situated just outside town in Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar district(recently named Nawanshahr earlier the part of the part of Jalandhar district). This village is famous for the famous Indian freedom fighter Bhagat Singh who fought against the British Ruler. Bhagat Singh was an Indian anti-colonial revolutionary, who participated in the mistaken murder of a junior British police officer in December 1928 in what was to be retaliation for the death of an Indian nationalist.
