Extreme Weather in Delhi City

It is significant that day by day Delhi city is facing extreme weather and it looks abnormal and it is outlier when compared with other city's weather. We know India is a big country and every state’s has diverse weather condition. During winter Delhi is notorious for it’s heavy fog and abnormal haze. From month of December it becomes heavy till February. In December reduced visibility leads to disruption of road, air and rail traffic. Winter ends by the first week of March. Extreme temperatures have ranged from -2.2 to 49.9°C (28.0 to 121.8°F). I am remembering that day when I was coming back to Phagwara from Bangladesh. Firstly our flight was delayed for 3 hours due to heavy fog and when we arrived in Delhi we had missed our train.  During that time we were puzzled what to do and we couldn’t make any decision. Lastly we hired a car at evening from Delhi to go to Phagwara. After some hours we realized how extreme the weather was. Everything was invisible. We  were so frightened and there was  a big chance of being accident. Although after 10 years we arrived in Phagwara. This is the scenario of winter. On the other hand it is very hot in summer (April-July). I am so surprised when we saw the temperature of Delhi was 52.3°C. But after some days the temperature had broke all the record. 29th May 2024 Delhi recorded India’s highest ever temperature with the mercury reaching 52.9°C at the city’s Mungeshpur weather station the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said. Anyway, what I am writing today it is more horrible. Excessive cold, dense fog, heat wave and after those of vulnerable weather condition now Delhi is facing dangerous water logging. Delhi’s rain fall broke it's 88 years record.   At least 11 people had died  due to heavy rainfall that began in last Friday.  Thunderstorms and lighting hit in Delhi causes of severe water logging in several areas of Delhi and it's surrounding areas. After all we can say the month of June 2024 has marked it’s place in Delhi’s history with the third-highest rainfall recorded since 1901. If it continue then it will be a great problem and one day may it will  make a big havoc. There are some reason here and study say Delhi lies in landlocked northern plains of the Indian subcontinent. It’s climate is greatly influenced by it’s proximity to the Himalayan and thar desert. Beside this climate change has a big role as a constant rise in global temperature has also increase temperature impacting both day and night temperatures. We know sometimes Delhi apply cloud seeding system for improve their air quality. But cloud seeding systems has also has bad effect. We believe everything has solution. Although humans are not powerful than nature but they can protect natural disaster and every disaster gives us chance to learn new techniques. If government and people jointly fight and aware all of the environmental issues and try to protect our environmental disaster, I hope  one day that kind of problem will be reduced.
